Women's Safety at Night

→ As London's Night Czar, Amy was tasked with prioritizing women's safety at night. Drawing on her own experiences working late hours, she deeply understood the challenges women faced. As a direct response, she and the Mayor of London established the Women’s Night Safety Charter. The WNSC outlines seven concrete, actionable pledges covering communication, training, and public design to make London a city where all women feel safe and welcome at night.

Over 2600 London businesses and organisations operating at night are now active signatories, and other UK and global cities including Bristol, Manchester and Melbourne, have adopted the Charter. It is part of the Mayor’s Tackling Violence Against Women and Girls Strategy and London’s commitment to the UN Women Safe Cities and Safe Public Spaces global initiative. The Annual Women’s Night Safety Summit, held in London, brings signatories together to learn, share best practice, and celebrate success.
